Imphal, April 7 : Two personnel of Assam Rifles were killed while another was wounded when troops of two units of Assam Rifles fought against each other in between Khudengthabi and Lokchao area at Chandel district. The gun battle took place at around 9:30 pm yesterday. Troops of 24 Assam Rifles and 9 Assam Rifles resorted to firing against each other due to a communication gap according to a source.
The deceased AR personnel were identified as Narengbam Suresh Kumar (30), of Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leikai and Ram Krishan Singh of Uttarchand. Both the dead bodies were brought to RIMS today .
