Imphal, June 14 : A tableau exhibition depicting the rich cultural heritage of Chandel Dist and traditional Dance fiesta was organized at Pallel by 26 Sector Assam Rifles under HQ IGAR (S) on 13 Jun 2013. Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra, IGAR (S), Rashmi Chopra, President ARWWA, IGAR (S), Brig Rajiv Mankotia VSM, Sect Cdr, 26 Sect AR, N Victor, MLA Chandel, DC Chandel, SP Chandel and other important civil and military dignitaries graced the occasion. The cultural function commenced with dance from a troupe of Chandel Dist along with a song showcasing the rich cultural heritage of various tribes of Chandel. Various stalls depicting the life style and routine of different communities were show cased and appreciated by all. The dance showcased the rich cultural heritage of Moltuk, and it was followed by Tamil Sangam, Bamboo Dance from Tegnoupal Region, Kabi Dance from Moreh, Chothe Cultural Dance from Chandel, Joulei Kon Dances from Moltuk Region, Aimol, Tarao and Maring dances from Chandel and Pupalam and Kanamjem dances from Khengjoi Region. Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (S) and all the respected dignitaries appreciated the dances presented by different cultural troupes and encouraged them to uphold the cultural and traditional values of Chandel District
