Recognising the services rendered by Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal for the youths particularly in the field of Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance (Drug) Abuse in Thoubal District, Manipur, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India has selected the Kendra for National Award under the category of Best Awareness Campaign.
The Award will be presented by the President of India at the Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi in the auspicious occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on the 26th June, 2013. Y. Laksman Singh, District Youth Coordinator of Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal will be receiving the National Award.The District Administration Thoubai congratulated the Nehru Yuva Kendra for the Outstanding Service in the field of Youth Development in Thoubal District, Manipur said a press hand out issued by T. Ranjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal.
