IMPHAL, June 22: The United Revolutionary Front which had recently signed the Memorandum of Understanding with both the state and central government has today release a statement clarifying on the claims of the state police about the arrest of four cadres of the outfit including its home secretary against an extortion related FIR.
The statement signed by its assistant secretary publicity Poinu Luwang has demanded proper proof of the extortion charges against its cadres.
It has demanded the voice call records of both the mobile number allegedly used by the URF cadres and the one used by the complainer.
The complainer should be produced before a First Class Magistrate and made to make his statement on the issue, it said. The statement further continued that the outfit will soon apprise the central government to review the ground rules of the MoU at the earliest.
The statement had said that the ground rules of the MoU signed says that any army, para military, state forces or any other security agencies/ forces cannot conduct any operation against the URF.
