IMPHAL, January 20: DGP Shahid Ahmad has today appealed to the public to exercise vigilance with militants likely to step up activities for setting up bombs and other violent attacks in the run-up to the Republic Day celebration. In a meeting with pressmen at his office chamber, the police chief said mobile police patrolling has been enhanced and bomb attacks have been reined in 2014. Seeking the cooperation from the public, he said without their participation the police will be unsuccessful in fighting insurgency and day to day crimes.
