IMPHAL January 22: Four local campers including two women at a National Integration Camp were admitted to JNIMS hospital after they fell ill after eating a local cabbage preparation which was served to campers as part of their dinner last night.
According to one of the campers who was present at JNIMS Hospital they are presently staying at Khuman Lampak Kangshang for the NIC which began on January 20. The camp which concludes tomorrow is being organised by the Nehru Yuva Kandra Imphal under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Altogether 250 participants from six states are staying at the camp.
He continued that four of them got ill yesterday night after they consumed the mashed cabbage preparation. At around 10.30 pm they were admitted to JNIMS casualty ward, he said. Officials said the cabbages were brought from Nagamapal.
The four campers were identified as Sanasam Rajesh, 23, son of Ningthembabu of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai; Anil, 26, of Singjamei Makha Leikai; Oinam Shakhenbi, 17, daughter of Nongan of Lairenkabi and N Bhanupati, 23, daughter of Amuba of Lilong Chajing. Their condition is stated to be stable now.
