JIRIBAM, April 9: Jiribam witnessed a 61.16 percent turnout of voters today in the Outer Manipur Schedule Tribe reserved Parliamentary Constituency voting.
Voting at the 40/Jiribam Assembly Constituency was conducted from 7am to 4pm without any untoward incident.
However, one of the EVMs had to be replaced due to link error at the 40/25 Yaralpokpi polling station around 9am.
40/Jiribam Assembly Constituency has 25,953 voters with 13,205 males and 12413 females. 15873 voters cast their votes. The constituency has 12 sensitive polling stations and 28 normal polling stations.
Four Sector Magistrates, two Micro Observers and State Armed Personnel (SAP) and Central Para Military Force (CPMF) personnel provided security.
