IMPHAL, April 10: The valedictory function of a ten-day training programme on ‘Weaving Revival of Traditional Technique Using Scrap Fabric’, sponsored by North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi) and organised by Leima thrift and credit co-operative society, was held on Thursday at Kakwa Asem Leikai Community Hall. 60 trainees participated are participating in the programme in two phases. The training is mainly on changing scraps into useful products and also on marketing the products.
Managing director of MFDC Dr K Sobita was the chief guest while Chief Executive Officer of Leima thrift and credit co-operative society Leitanthem Jibanlata was the president as Branch Manager of NEDFi Imphal Branch Rajiv Khaidem and retired Additional Registrar Th Manao attended the event as the guests of honour.
Dr K Sobita said that people lacked a work culture and has lost their targets levels. Women are taking initiatives in the state and also contributing in a big way in the state. Women work hard but lack the support from their families. Support of the family or their husbands is required for the development of women and their work must be appreciated.
“Continuity in trade must be maintained to reach a certain target level for a work culture to develop in the state. The products should be unique for people to like the products.”
She appealed the trainees to not imitate the products from other states while making products in the state.
