IMPHAL, Oct 16: The North-East Forum For International Solidarity has strongly condemned the recent attacks on the northeastern community.
In an e-mailed statement, the forum has said the attack on T Michael Lamjathang Haokip in Bangalore is not an isolated incident.
`Such racist attacks have been on the rise and it shows the continued ignorance shown by the State administration towards the community coming from the north eastern part of the country.`
The police administration has largely been unresponsive towards the concerns of northeastern community, it claimed before adding that two young men from Nagaland were brutally assaulted using cricket bats today. NEFIS demands the immediate arrest of the assailant. If our demand is not heard immediately we will wage a nation-wide protest, it said.
