IMPHAL, November 1: Separate road mishaps in the State killed three including a girl, and left five others injured since yesterday evening.
A Ford Figo car heading towards Imphal from the Moreh direction was involved in a self accident around 5pm near the Sita Lamkhai (diversion) along Imphal-Moreh highway killing an occupant and injuring three others.
The victim, who is an assistant teacher under the Autonomous District Council, has been identified as Lhunkholet Kuki, 45, son of Khuphao Kuki of Lhangnomphai Village, Churachandpur District presently staying at Kamdou Veng.
Tengnoupal police have registered a case. The body of the victim has been handed over to family members after post mortem was conducted at the RIMS morgue. The three injured, admitted to the Raj Medicity for treatment, are said to be out of danger.
In the second incident, a 29-year old driving a Pulsar motorcycle bearing Regd No: MN 02/A 8547 died when his motorcycle hit an electric post at Tronglaobi Makha Leikai along Tiddim Road under Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district this early morning around 5.
The victim identified as Letgouchon Kipgen son of Somang Kipgen of Chengkonpang, Churachandpur was returning home after attending yesterday’s Kut festival at Imphal.
The concerned police have already registered a case in this regard and the body handed over to the family after post mortem was conducted at RIMS morgue.
This morning around 11:45, a Tata Manza car bearing regd no MN 1X 1314 collided with a Pulsar motorcycle killing a 19-year old girl riding pillion on the motor cycle on the spot.
The accident occurred near the Kids Foundation along Tiddim Road at Ghari under Singjamei Police.
The driver of the motorcycle and another girl pillion riding on the same motorcycle were also injured and admitted at RIMS for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Marisha Wangshol, daughter of WS Jacobson of Chandel Japhou Bazar and the two injured as Winingla, 17, daughter of Masuanbou Abonmei of Tamenglong district and Delhiboy, 22 son of Mollung.
Delhiboy is said to be Marisha’s cousin.
Sources said Wangshol Marisha was the cover girl of Anal Phung Calendar 2014.
According to family sources, her funeral service will be held on November 4, 2014 at her residence in Chandel.
Her body is being kept at RIMS morgue for post mortem.
Meanwhile, Anal Phung, a web based organisation has condoled on her death and said it shares the deep pain and sorrows of the bereaved family.
