IMPHAL, Feb 28: A training programme on organic and participatory organic guarantee system (PGS)-India Certification was held at Keinou Bishnupur District today.
The training programme was organised by the Regional Centre for Organic farming in collaboration with Green Foundation Imphal and Assocaition for Rural Development and Women empowerment which participated by the NGOs field Functionaries and State government officers which are working with farmer from various district of state.
In today training programme, Kh Ibohal Associate Professor College of Agriculture CAU has delivered speech on the topic `Plant protection measures under Organic farming` later Dr M Sumarjit Assistant Professor CAU has delivered on the topic `Organic farm and traditional knowledge` and Potsangabm Devakanta National Awardees and President of PPV&FRA has deliver on the topic of Problem and Protection of Organic farming in Manipur as resource persons of the training programme.
In his keynote address, GB Karmaker Labouratory Assistant of Regional Central of Organic Farming said that the main objective of practising the organic farming is to maintain healthy environment, free from toxic insecticide.
Such practise can sustain ecological balance and ensure good health to all.
Organic farming was once practised by our ancestor and it is a simple method of agriculture using only animal manure.
Such training programmes have already been conducted in Uyumpok Village and Khangsim Village of Imphal East and Chandel districts respectively.
