IMPHAL, April 11: In continuation of its measures to wipe out psychotropic drugs from the society, Khomidok Sorok Mapal Village Anti-Drug Committee, Khomidok under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East during an anti-drug drive conducted in the village from yesterday evening till today pulled up 19 drug abusers and sellers including four women.
According to Ajit, secretary of the committee, the drug abusers and sellers who were pulled up are identified as Irungbam Raikhan, 19; Apanao Siro, 22; Mutum Olen, 38 son of M Madhumangol Singh of Khurai Sajor Leikai; Samson Lairellapam, 27 son of L Kumar of Khurai Sajor Leikai; Vikram Yumnam, 26 son of Y Brojendro Singh of Thangmeiband; Yumnam Herojit, 25 son of Y Indra Singh of Thangmeiband; Kamei Kaikhomei, 30 son of Kathao of Stadium Road; Irom Henba Singh, 18 son of I Pramo Devi of Lamlai; Chingakham Sanatomba Singh, 18 son of Ch Biren Singh of Lamlai; Chingpu, 20 son of Saikholun Khongsai of Laipham Khunou; Kakai Khongsai, 20 son of Seitinmang Khongsai of Khongsang village, Senapati; Mathew SK, 35 son of SK Chilhi from Chandel; Sanjit, 29 son of Bala of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi; Naorem Bode, 30 son of N Memcha Devi of Pangei Bazar and Maibam Rohen, 25 son of Late M Naba Singh of Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai.
Large numbers of highly sedative SP and N-10 tablets were found from their possession.
During the drive, five persons including four women were pulled up along with Heroin no 4 drug. They are identified as Ishran, 50 wife of Late Md Abdul Halim of Minuthong Hatta; Khalida, 30 daughter of Late Md Shiraj of Kairang Chingya; Rashida, 42 wife of Md Abdul Latif of Mayang Imphal; Hajira, 60 wife of Md Salao of Khomidok Chingya and auto driver Md Ajmer, 28 son of Md Salim of Khomidok Chingya.
Around 2.5 gram of Heroin no 4 worth Rs 3600 in the local market was found from their possession.
