IMPHAL, October 4: The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences has appealed to RIMS Nurses Association Lamphel to suspend its proposed agitation in connection with their demands.
A statement issued by the RIMS authority through its media advisor has said it has been working hard for the welfare of both the institute and its employees.
Appealing to the nurses association to abandon its stand to start agitation from October 5, it said it would be wrong to implicate the RIMS authority has done nothing for their welfare.
It said the authority has been taking up welfare measures for the nurses and has been working hard to work out some demands of the association.
Elaborating further, the statement said it had toiled hard for the finalisation of their reservation roster.
RIMS officials had even visited the Ministry of health and Family Welfare, New Delhi pressing for the demand.
When even that failed, the RIMS authority had urged the Ministry to send two of its officials, following which two officials came from September 28 to 30 to finalise the reservation rooster, it said.
Further, without any delay, RIMS authority had requested the Ministry to send the deputy secretary (NE Division) for promotion of the nurses and with the acceptance of the request, the RIMS authority has already scheduled October 8 to hold the DPC for promotion of the nurses, it said.
