IMPHAL, October 8: The Rhythms of Manipur`™s latest music composition based on Manipuri drums `Dancing Drummers` will be presented at the prestigious 9th edition of the Delhi International Arts Festival (DIAF) 2015 organised by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi in collaboration with Prasiddha Foundation from October 16 to November 1 at different venues in Delhi, said a statement of The Rhythms of Manipur.
The festival will feature performances of dance, theatre, film and music groups and individuals from different countries including Taiwan, Singapore, Israel, Russia, Egypt, Hungary, Sri Lanka, UK etc. and from different States of India, it said.
The `Dancing Drummers` will be presented on October 19 at Shri Ram Centre, New Delhi at 7 pm. National Award winning music composition `The Journey` will also be presented at the festival on October 19, it said.
It said music has been composed by Huidrom Anilkumar and Laishram Milanjit and the overall production was designed by RK Sanatomba, founding artiste of the Rhythms of Manipur.
It may be noted here that the Dancing Drummers mainly performed by seven young girls premiered on May 10 at NT Theatre, Imphal and received wide appreciation from the general public and art critics, it said.
The drummers had also performed as one of the main attractions at the recent Wolrd Tourism Day celebration on September 27 organised by the Department of Tourism Government of Manipur at Andro Natural Park.
The team is leaving Imphal for New Delhi on October 18 and will return on October 20, it said.
