Barak Bridge which developed a snag yesterday morning has been repaired and stranded vehicles have started moving.
According to information received from the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), repairing of Barak Bridge finished at around 5 pm today.
Empty trucks which came from the direction of Imphal were first allowed to cross the bridge.
After all the empty trucks had crossed the bridge, loaded trucks coming from the direction of Jiribam were allowed the cross the bridge with oil tankers leading the way.

CM’s relief fund

Donations to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for flood victims are still coming in.
Local cable television network ISTV, Central Agricultural University (CAU) and S Kula Women’s College donated Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively today.
These amounts were handed over to Chief Minister N Biren at a simple ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. N Biren expressed his profound gratitude to the donors for showing concern for the woes endured by the flood affected people. He also expressed hope that more organisations and people would come forward to help rehabilitate the flood victims.

IMPHAL, Jul 18 : In view of public convenience, unauthorised parking of private vehicles and vehicles on display by motor showrooms that cause serious accidents leading to death and nuisance on busy roads has been prohibited with immediate effect.
Violation of the order is a punishable offence and hence shall be liable to penalty of Rs 100 fine which may extend up to Rs 300 under Section 177 MV Act, 1988, said a press release issued by SP, Traffic Control Police Wing.
