In an aim to educate the deeper logics and teachings of philosophy, a five-day teachers’ orientation course started today at DM College of Arts, philosophy department. It is also organised by the same.
During the opening function, Dorendra Singh, retired principal of DM College of Arts who was also the chief guest said that philosophy is one of the most regarded subjects and a respectable profession.
He talked about contemporary philosophy and analytical philosophy which is also the topics to be discussed in the orientation course.
He went on by saying that in philosophy, one of the most important logic is “it is our common property” and that common sense is the original home of philosophers and without it, no philosopher can substantiate its theory or thesis.
Professor S. Shyamkishore Singh, retired head dean of humanities, MU and Sharangajit Khundrakpam, president of DM College of Arts attended the function as presidium members.
