IMPHAL, April 12:The member of the national commission for minority Praveen Davar is on a tour of Manipur for three day. After reaching the state he already held a meeting with secretariat official yesterday on the issue of minorities in the state. Today he met the minority community leaders at Classic Hotel.
He mentioned that his visit is to meet minority leaders of the state and share the knowledge of minority problems and grievances faced at present. He said he was appointed as National Commission for Minority member on January 27 2014 and is in-charge of Manipur and other two states Tripura and Meghalaya.
Before this he was in-charge of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Orissa. Yesterday arrived in the state from Nagaland. During his visit to the state he is focusing on the Prime Minister`™s 15-point programme and overseeing how the Multi Sector Development Programme is implemented in every state.
He further said MSDP is applicable in seven districts of Manipur and about 20% minority habited areas qualify for MSDP. On yesterday`™s meeting, he said he reviewed all the MSDP schemes and 15 points of PM schemes. He said that he asked for reports of all scheme and minority problems within one week.
He said that during his visit he will take report from all section of minority peoples of the state and hear their problems. These will include interactions with Muslim, Christian and Buddhist communities, he added.
Amin Shah Parliamentary Secretary MOBC said that MSDP schemes and other minority schemes implemented in state are done after thorough screenings.
So it is right time to highlight every grievance of minority and what are problem facing in minority in our state, said Amin Shah.
