The eight state level orange festival was held at Lower Ground, Tamenglong district headquarter, Gracing the occasionas chief guest, the horticulture minister Shri Phungzathang Tonsing said due to hard pressure of state govt. the centre has agreed to hand over a package to Tamenglong district for the enhancement of oranges and bomboos. For this, the govt. sent DPR. The People of Tamenglong should get benefit from next year. It is due to the good governance of SPF govt.
DD Thaisii who spoke as guest of honour said, Tamenglong is a land of oranges. He assured all possible helop from govt. side. Namphujai of Namlulong village, Rk hawkire and Tousuangnibou stood first, second and third positions in the festival. The winners get Rs. 1.50 lakhs, 1.25 lakhs and one lakh as cash prize.
