Woman hit by lightening

IMPHAL | July 29

A woman was injured by lightening this afternoon at Kharasom area, Imphal East district under Lamlai assembly constituency. The incident took place at around 3:30 pm when the woman along with 8 others went to work in the paddy field.

 The injured woman has been identified as Yengkhom (O) Pakpi Devi, wife of Y. John Singh. She has been evacuated at JNIMS hospital, Porompat. According to eye witness, Pakpi was hit by the lightening as they were walking together. She was walking at the front. The cloth she was wearing was shredded into pieces when she was hit by the lightening.
