In a combined search operation by district police commando, Imphal East and 6 Assam Rifles, on November 8, at Top Khongngangkhong area, one active member of PREPAK (Red Army) Wangjam Maicha Meitei alias Bhokenjit/ Milkisha (32), son of W. Ito Singh of Litanpokpi Awang Leikai, was arrested from the western side of Top ThongKhong, a release said.

A case has been registered at Porompat Police Station for further investigation, it added.

The search operation was a precautionary measure for the upcoming Sangai Festival, it further mentioned.

On the same day, in another search operation at Kakching bazar, by the combined team of district police commando, Kakching and 39 Assam Rifles, one over ground worker of KYKL, namely Shagolsem Sanatomba Singh alias Sana (23), son of Sh. Ibocha Singh of Langathel Laikhon has been arrested, the release continued.

Investigation revealed that Sanatomba along with one Hijam Amarjit Singh alias Mangoljao (23), son of H. Ranjit Singh of Lumjao Mayai Leikai, an active cadre of KYKL who had recently been arrested on November 7, had recruited a new cadre for the said organisation, it added further.

The arrested person has been handed over to Kakching Police Station for further investigation, it added.

Further, the release mentioned that one drug dealer, namely, Vungngaihchin (25), wife of Goukkhanlal of Ngathal, Dinthar Veng, Churachandpur has been arrested in a raid in Ngathal on November 9, by the combined team of Drug Cell, Churachandpur and Churachandpur Police Station (including women police).

During the raid, 1958 nos. of WY (Amphetamine) tablets valued about 1 lakh in local market, was seized from her possession. On further investigation Esther Lalmangaihthang (28), wife of Lalremthang Leivang of Tuiringphaisen was also arrested in connection with the case, the released added.

A case has been registered at Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation on the aforementioned arrest, the release concluded.
