Sub-committee drafts its final memorandum regarding the Indo-Naga peace talk

The sub-committee formed to draft memorandum regarding the peace talk with the Central government and the NSCN-IM has drafted the final memorandum today. This was announced at a press meet today by Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Joykumar at his office at Manipur Secretariat (North Block), Imphal Joykumar.

Joykumar is the chairman of the committee formed on October 28 after a meeting of all the political parties of the state.

The final draft of the memorandum was drafted today after a third meeting of the sub-committee that took place today, he added.

The drafted memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister, N. Biren within one or two days and after that all political parties meeting will take place to discuss and finalised the memorandum, continued the deputy chief minister.

Though Joykumar did not disclose the contents of the memorandum, he said all the political parties of the state will never agree to a compromise of the territorial integrity of the state.

Mentioning that proposals and suggestions made by the members of the sub-committee representing different political parties were noted in the meetings before drafting the memorandum concerning the issue, he claimed the representative of the Congress party never attended in any of the sub-committee’s meeting to give any suggestion.

The first meeting of the sub-committee took place on November 2, second meeting on November 15 and the last and final meeting was held today.
