Imphal, May 27 : L Tilotama, Vice-Chairperson, Board of Governors, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India, has congratulated Major Dr. Neikhrietuonuo Ginuo Linyu on reaching the Top of the World. Admiring the rare feat achieved and being the first Naga Woman to scale the Mt. Everest, Km Tilotama stated that Dr. Linyu has become a member of an Exclusive Club of Everesters and is a symbol of determination and hard work.
“Major Dr. Linyu has exhibited the conquest of fear and demonstrated courage, physical and mental perseverance with the spirit of adventure. She will be a source of inspiration for the youths of the region; NYKS wishes her the best in her endeavors to achieve higher goals in life.
Her feat has come in the most opportune time as we try to rediscover the positive energy of the youths.
She has done her state Nagaland and the women of the entire region proud and we all join in sharing this moment of happiness” Tilotama stated
Dr Linyu was a member of the 22-member Indian Army Mountaineering team, which included four lady officers. An Alumnus of RIMS Imphal, Dr Linyu is posted at Agra a a UN Peace Keeping Force tenure at Congo. Km L Tilotama Devi also visited Manipur Mountaineering Institute (MMI), at Lamdan and inspected the infrastructures being developed. Dr. L Surjit Singh, president MMTA and other officials apprised her of the rich potentials and the scopes for Adventure Eco Tourism in the region.
Acknowledging the rich potentials for developing Adventure Eco-Tourist destinations, she expressed her aspirations to work with other organizations for the benefit of the young people and the region said a press hand out issued by Jackie Ruivah, Zonal Director, NYKS, Imphal .
