Imphal, Aug 5 : 27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organized an “IFTAAR” at Keirak village in Thoubal District On 04 August 2012. Troops of 27 Assam Rifles and the local community par took the meal together so as to cement their bond of brotherhood and affection. The highlight of the event was the rendering of the ‘Namaaz’ by the local community along with the Assam Rifles. The Maulvi of the village conveyed that “Iftaar” is the time for self reflection and focusing on the values of all the faiths. The Commandant 27 Assam Rifles, in his message, conveyed his heartiest greetings and best wishes to all and exhorted them to let the holy month of Ramadan build in us the spirit of compassion and love and promote unity, peace and prosperity.
In another occasion, 18 SIKH of 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) celebrated Iftaar party with the people of Lilong at Madrasa Darul Uloom. The commanding officer 18 SIKH was the chief guest of the function. More than 250 people were present for the occasion. Troops of 18 SIKH along with the commanding officer participated in the Namaz together.
