Side by side the negotiation on the Naga political issue is said to have reached an advanced stage. Therefore, we fervently appeal to the parties concern to discard confrontationist positions and to make use of the space for dialogue and communication as violence will only complicate and aggravate the situation,” it appeals.
The UNC then stated, “While acknowledging the Zeliangrong civil society organizations and churches for their ceaseless efforts towards reconciliation and peace, we also appeal to the general public of the area for reason and good sense in handling the highly vitiated situation so that peace and goodwill among the Naga brethren is restored at the earliest”.
