MPHAL, Oct 30 NNN: The ‘2nd Eikhoigee Mimannadrabi Ningolshing Chak-kouba Amadi Khudol Tamba’ was celebrated at Ima Panthoibi Shanglen, Khumbong in Imphal West on Tuesday. More than 100 ‘differently abled’ women were invited to the feast jointly organized by Nongchup Imphal Loumee-Sinmee Chaokhat Thourang Lup, Imphal West and International Handicapped Welfare Association.The festival of Ningol Chak-kouba has been a historic tradition in Manipur and that such festival fastens the ties amongst brothers and sisters, Konthoujam constituency MLA K Sharat stated. The MLA was taking part at the celebration. He emphasised that handicapped should be treated alike with others as they have the same heart, saying many physically challenged have shown their stunning talents. He also appreciated the Loumee-Sinmee Chaokhat Thourang Lup for organising the event. Later, 110 ningols were presented with gifts amidst shower of blessings and thanksgiving.Bijenti, Imphal West Adhakshya, Pradhan of Yurembam Gram Panchayat, K Loyalakpa, editor, Naharogee Thoudang and other local leaders also joined the celebration.
