MNS: Assam Rifles has vehemently denied the opinion expressed in some newspapers that the blast which occured in Khurai Chairen Thongkhong along Imphal Ukhrul road, resulting in injury to one civilian was because of the bomb being accidently dropped from the Assam Rifles vehicles. Reacting vehemently to the opinions expressed, the PRO HQ IGAR (South) said that such an opinion is totally absurd and possibly the result of a perverse imagination motivated by anti national elements. he blast was triggered by either a grenade or explosive placed by the terrorists on crowded stretch of road where civilians were present when the Assam Rifles convoy was passing by.
Recent acts have mostly targeted innocent civilians without any humanitarian consideration for local populace. Assam Rifles have always remained the ‘FRIENDS OF MANIPUR’ people and condemn all such incidents of violence perpetrated by anti national elements.
