The Special Judge for CBI cases, Jabalpur has convicted Yuvraj B. Bramhane, the then Income Tax Inspector, Balaghat(Madhya Pradesh) and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.8,50,000/- U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988. The Judge has also ordered that if the accused fails to deposit the fine amount of Rs.8,50,000/-, an amount of Rs.8,09,360/- would be recovered by confiscation of bank balance. Further, the remaining fine amount i.e. Rs.40,640/- would be recovered after the attachment & sale of property of accused, situated at Raipur (Chhatisgarh).
After conducting an investigation, CBI filed charge sheet before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur on 31/08/2009 U/s 13(2) r/w (1)(e) P.C. Act. 1988, alleging that during the period 01.01.2001 to 12.11.2008, Yuvraj B. Bramhane, working as Senior Tax Assistant & Income Tax Inspector at Raipur & Balaghat was found in the possession of assets to the tune of Rs.9.69 Lakh(approx.) which was disproportionate to his known sources of Income.
In another case, the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Chennai convicted Dilip Singh Bhonsle, an official of Archaeological Survey of India in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs.30,000/-
A case was registered on 30.05.2007 against V Dilip Singh Bhonsle, Conversion Assistant Grade-II, Archaeological survey of India, Mamalapuram Sub Circle, Kancheepuram District on the allegation that during the period 2000–2007, he had acquired assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
