IMPHAL, Dec 27: The Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) has extended its gratitude while appreciating the Film Forum Manipur (FFM) and Manipur Shumang Leela Council for suspending the bandh in connection with the Chandel outrage on December 18.

According to a release of TKLI, “The TKLI would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all those who have extended financial support and all kinds of support towards the people in the relief camp at Tangkhul Avenue Hall, Nagaram Hall and Berean Lodge, Dewlahland especially to MLA Preshaw Shimray, MLA N Biren Singh, MLA Victor Keishing, John Raleng Chairman ADC Ukhrul, MLA Samuel Risom, Tangkhul Avenue Village Authority, Nagaram Village authority, Youth Club of Nagaram and Tangkhul Avenue and Women Society of Tangkhul Avenue and Nagaram, SDPO Ukhrul and OC Ukhrul. During the bandh over 3500 people from Ukhrul were stranded.”

“They were escorted upto Ukhrul headquarter. Despite mental torture and other inconveniences during this festive Christmas season timely intervention of MLA Preshaw Shimray have convinced the people`s anguish from being trapped into the communal situation,” it further said.

“This office also shares the pain and sufferings of the injured persons who are still in the hospital,” it added.
