Diesel price has been hiked by 50 paise per litre, excluding VAT.
The new price will come into effect from midnight tonight.
The consumers will now have to pay Rs. 50.84 for a litre in Delhi, Rs. 54.15 in Chennai, Rs. 55.16 in Kolkata and Rs. 57.61 in Mumbai.
The Indian Oil Corporation has in a statement said that the hike was necessitated due to devaluation of rupee and increase in the international prices
