IMPHAL, April 10: The Thanga Block Congress Committee today organised a political convention at Keibul Lamjao Atom Yaima Playground.
Chief minister of Manipur O Ibobi Singh attended the function as chief guest, with deputy chief minister and MPCC president Gaikhangam, Thanga MLA T Mangibabu attended as president and guest of honour respectively.
T Mangibabu said the Congress will get most votes in Thanga AC to win.
Saying that he has reports of certain persons have spreading that construction of huts upon the floating biomass will be allowed again, he appealed to the people not to believe in such rumours.
The Loktak Protection Act was amended following the chief minister’s approval, he said.
He further appealed to the people to cast their votes only for the Congress for a better society.
DCM Gaikhangam also said that only the Congress cares for the people.
There are also several development projects for the people in the pipeline, he continued.
And as such, the people should support the Congress to continue the development works, he said.
Chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh said the Loktak protection Act was formed in the state and it will not do any harm to the people of the state.
He further appealed to the people not to believe the wrong accusations spread by the opposition regarding the Rs 50 crore projects for which foundation stone was laid recently.
Ibobi observed that he did not want to say it as the election code of conduct was still impose, however, he had to clarify on the issue.
He also said that Manipur can be called Mini India because of the different cultures. Only Congress can save the integrity of Manipur the party, he said.
