IMPHAL, October 3: Advance Life Support Ambulance was today handed over to the Medical Officers of Moreh sub-division hospital and Community Health Center, Chakpikarong.

Handing over the ambulance, Robert Ksh, DC of Chandel District, instructed the officers that the ambulance should be used at the best possible level to provide health care services to the people, particularly those who are residing in the interior areas of the district.

Under the chairmanship of the DC, monthly district review meeting of District Health Society was also conducted at the District Hospital of Chandel today. During the review meeting, the performance of Second Quarter Health Indicator of each block was reviewed and plans for improvement were chalked out.

Robert also instructed the officials of District Health Society to furnish a proposal for constructing building at the PHSCs of Khengjoy, Yangoulen and T Bungmol areas, which are functioning without proper infrastructures.

He also congratulated the entire District Health Society team for holding second position in the First Quarter Health Indicator performance in the State. He further appealed the health workers to work harder and they should not rest on their laurels.

Robert also reviewed the HMIS, Health Management Information System of the First Quarter District Headquarter. As per the HMIS report, Machi block of the district has performed far better than Chakpikarong block.

Further, he appealed all the officials concerned of the blocks to strictly refer to the methodology provided to them while preparing Score Card/Dash Board to improve their performance for better health care service delivery in the District. He instructed all blocks to compile health mapping for their respective blocks and work out plans for improvement.

During the meeting it was also emphasised that mass awareness of health services must be imparted focusing extensively on far-flung areas through various methods.

The DC assured that shortages of manpower, lack of infrastructures and equipment in the health centers will be looked into.

The review meeting and handing over of Advance Life Support Ambulance was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr N Birchandra Singh, UNICEF consultant Arun Meitram, maternal health consultant Dr Usha, State facilitator Ng Monota, Dr Benedick State Ayush consultant along with other health staffs of the district.
