IMPHAL, May 18: MEIRAA defeated SLO Bishnupur by a solitary goal whil MPSC defeated YAC by 5-1 goals in today`™s matches of the 35th mens and 17th womens state hockey league at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.

In the first ground match of the day for 17th women`™s state hockey league MEIRAA, Bashikhong defeated SLO Bishnupur by 1-0 goal.

The all important goal for MEIRAA was scored by S Arunkumari Devi in the 34th minute.

In the match for the 35th mens state hockey league which was played as second ground match of the day, MPSC defeated YAC by 5-1 goals.

S Rabi scored three goals in the 1st, 5th and 11th minute while Th Birjit and P Jupiter scored in the 10th and 26th minutes of the match respectively to total MPSC`™s goal to five.

The only goal for YAC was scored by Sitaljit in the 14th minute.

It wishes to correct the erroneous news and confirms that the project is taken up by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in hand with Manipur University`™s Anthropology Department and Manipur Mahela Kalyan Samity. It further states that albeit the Childline Collaborative Organisation ceases to exist due to its failure in deliberation of duties, it stands strong with the fact that the Childine Project has not been removed from the state, it added.

IMPHAL, May 18: ESU Wangkhei will clash THAU Thangmeiband in the first semi final of the 8th Th Birchandra Football Academy state level U-16 football tournament. In the second semi final TBSFA will clash SKDC.

THAU managed to enter the semi final by virtue of beating NIDSU by a solitary goal in a league match played today.

The one and only important goal for the THAU was scored by Ch Kiran in the 36th minute. Kiran`s goal came off a spot kick.

In another match played today KKYDA defeated YWC Malo, by 4-0 goals.

Yaiphaba, Damu and Rinau scored the goal for KKYDA while YWC`s Bangkim scored a own goal to total KKYDA`s goal to four.

IMPHAL, May18: Representatives of different organizations joint hands and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, on May18, regarding various matters according to a press release by the organizations.

The said representatives of the organizations are Poukhonlung, Convenor, Zeliangrong Students`™ Union Nungba Area (ZSUNA), Jamuna Kamei, Secretary, Bazar Board, Nungba, K.Bandai, Thoubei(Pei) Nungba, Angampou, President, Nungba Youth Organisation and they have put forward the following matters before the Government: 1) The sub-division officer/ sub-division magistrate/block development officer, Kajaigai Gangmei be transferred within a week. 2) Non-payment of cash component under MSDP and IAY. 3) Misappropriate use of MGNREGS fund under Material Component. 4) Partiality/bias in work allotment and indulgence in Nungba village affairs, it added.

The people are grievously suffering due to the above factors. The organizations demand the Government for immediate action and in case of failure, the organizations are willing to take up democratic agitation and protest, it added.

IMPHAL, May 18: The Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association is organising Dzuko Valley and Mt. Iso relay programme from June 15.

Interested person willing to join the programme may collect application from at the office of the MMTA, said a release. The selection will be done purely on first come first serve basis, the release said.

Another release of the MMTA said 32nd Rock climbing course will be held at Kangla Rock & Sports Climbing Wall of MMTA from June 5. Interested persons aged between 13-16 years could join the seven days residential course. They could collect application form from the same office on or before June 1.

IMPHAL, May 25: At 1.45 pm today a Chinese made hand grenade was found near a pond at Konjengbam Leikai Pukhri Achouba Mapal by a group of young boys who had come out to take bath in the pond. The grenade was later collected by a team of Imphal-West commando and Singjamei P/S.
Khangembam Noren (13) and Khangembam Roshan (12) noticed the grenade when they came along with some friends to take their bath.
However, no further details could be received, on why and who kept the bomb.

IMPHAL, May 17: In its drive to educate the youth and shape their future, a motivational lecture on `Indian Army: Nation`™s Pride`™ was organised by 10 DOGRA of Red Shield Division on 16 May 11 at Apou Kading High School, Tamei. Approximately 200 students of various schools attended the lecture.

The aim of the lecture was to acquaint the students about Indian Army, the career prospects and various ways to join the army as an army officer & also in other ranks. The organisation of Indian Army and its role in peace and war were also communicated. On the conclusion of the lecture a small movie on Indian army was also screened.

Children were seen highly impressed and motivated by this lecture as many of them made their mind to join Indian Army and were enthusiastic to become the part of this elite organisation.

The children`™s and department, of Tamei Schools expressed a heartfelt gratitude to 10 DOGRA for their efforts and selfless support to students`™ community, it added.

It catered for every aspect in meeting health related needs of the local populace of Upper Saranamei village and nearby surrounding villages. The aim of the camp was to provide treatment and free medicine at doorsteps to the patients in the remote villages. A large gathering of civilians attended the medical camp. The camp commenced from 0800 hrs and continued till 1500 hrs and had rendered medical care to a total of 282 patients. Captain Guruprakash KV (RMO) of 5 Assam Rifles and his team of three Nursing Assistants and one Female Attendant rendered their services for the camp. IMPHAL, May 17: Altogether 12 women football player from Manipur who represented India and contributed to the success of Indian National Women`™s Football team in the 11th South Asian Games, 2010 and the 1st SAFF Women`™s Football Championship, 2010, both held at Bangladesh have been rewarded a sum Rs 50,000 each by the All India Football Federation.

A release of the AMFA said AIFF has intimated 12 women football player of Manipur to handover a cheque of Rs 50,000 each.

Names of the players are Th Tababi Devi, K Rebika, O Bembem, Ng Bala, A Romi, Y Kamala, M Mandakini, O Roshini, W Robita, L Ronibala, G Radharani and N Geetarani Devi.
