IMPHAL, April 13: As part of ongoing efforts by 12 AR of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(S)  provided relief to villages of the region, 15 Solar Lights were gifted to eight villages namely Loni, Phaikoh, Molvailup, K Asang Kullen, Choro, Kongkhan, Skipe and Punamram. The solar lights were distributed by Commandant 12 Assam Rifles to village authorities during the interaction.
In Yet another occasion, 12 AR of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) provided  15 Sewing machines  to Gamnoum, Nambashi Kullen and Pihang villages as part of Assam Rifles Military Civic Action plan. The Commandant 12 AR  interacted with the Headmen and civilians during the presentation ceremony. The locals were extremely appreciative of the initiative taken by the Assam Rifles in bringing about developments in the area and helping out the common man.

IMPHAL April 13: The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU), Assam ,Manipur and Nagaland in order to pressurize the government of India to meet certain demands of the Zeliangrong people has imposed a 48 hour bandh in the state.The bandh will commence from midnight of April 17 till April 19 midnight.
A press release by AZSU general secretary Nchaheng Kompong states that the AZSU and the Zeliangrong public are staunch supporters of the Indo Naga peace process, because the solution to bring about a peaceful atmosphere for the state lies on the outcome of the talks.
AZSU will not allow any organization including the Army and other paramilitary forces to disrupt the hard earned Indo Naga peace process, it states.
The reason for supporting the talks is that thousands of innocent Nagas have been slaughtered during the last 60 years of fighting, many women have been violated and maimed, but the warring Naga revolutionary groups have now have entered a ceasefire with the government and there has been peace in the  Naga areas. AZSU and Zeliangrong people will oppose any form of disruption to the peace talks including those perpetrated by the Army and the 11 Assam Rifles, it states.
Further, the AZSU charged one colonel of the 11 AR for having failed to whip up support from the Zeliangrong public.

IMPHAL, April 16: Discovering the movement of UG cadres in general area Pichulampak, troops of 15 Assam Rifles and  28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched  joint operation  in the  area and apprehended one KYKL cadre at around 7 pm on  15 Apr 11. The apprehendee was identified as Longjam Tompak Singh alias Tiger, 32 yrs s/o Late Chaoba Singh, r/o Pichulampak, 01X Mobile  phone and 01 X LML NV scooter Regd No MN 03-50408 was  recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith the recoveries were  handed over to Thoubal Police station.

IMPHAL, April 13: The All Manipur Elementary School Teacher’s Association has decided not to collect their monthly salaries through United Bank of India located at Paona Bazar. According to a release of the association the decision was made considering the restrictions imposed on the encasement of respective salaries of the teachers which is more than Rs.10,000 per employees from the said bank. The release further mentioned that, restrictions of independent encasement by the teacher on their respective personnel account from will not be justifiable and the association further urged the concerned authorities of the state to transfer their bank account to a National bank where there will be independent encasement of money from their respective accounts.

IMPHAL, April 13: As a part of the Military Civic Action program taken up under the aegis of IGAR(S), the 23 Assam rifle posted at Sagolmang today distributed three solar street lamps to the people of Khundrakpam assembly constituency.
The solar lamps were distributed by the 23 AR post commander major Pradeep, and during the simple program the major assured the people of khundrakpam that more assistance under the MCA project for development of the constituency in the future.

IMPHAL April 12: The 69 Battalion of the CRPF, Mantripukhri observed the Ram Navami festival at the battalion today. IMPHAL, April 12: Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) in a press release by the outfit`™s information and publicity officer Max Stone heralds the need for a unified populace and especially among the insurgents groups demanding liberation.

The release states that the public has been reeling under a colonial rule since 1949 and the occupational forces have carried out countless crimes in the name of counter insurgency The need of the hour is not for different outfits to push forward their personal agendas and community based revolutionary ethos, but to be united to forward the revolutionary movement.

Outfits operating in the valley should be aware that MNRF also demands the liberation of the state. The outfits are not unified and there are many hiccups which have to be overcome to bring an united front and to identify the true enemy, it states.

There is no one in the outfit by the name of finance secretary Til and the revenue officer oversees all financial matters. The outfit has learned that the person referred as Til is carrying out rampant extortion and trying to malign the image of the outfit.
