The State Biotech Hub is an upcoming high level State Biotech Nodal Centre sponsored by DBT,GOI, with the mandate of research, training and outreach involving selected Colleges and DBT Institutional Hubs in Manipur. The Centre shall actively strive towards manpower development in thrust areas of Biotechnology especially Microbial Biotechnology relevant to socioeconomic development of Manipur. The Hub shall also actively interact with other State Biotech Hubs in the North-East. The activities of the Coordinator of the Centre, who is responsible for actualising the objectives of the Hub, shall be facilitated by a multidisciplinary Implementation and Monitoring Committee (IMC) approved by the esteemed Vice Chancellor (i/c), Manipur University.
To initiate the State Biotech Nodal Centre’s activities, applications in plain paper supported by CVs and relevant testimonials are invited for the following posts so as to reach the undersigned on or before April 30, 2011.
1. Research Associate (RA): One (01) post
Essential Qualification: PhD in the relevant areas of Biological Sciences/ Biotechnology. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in Microbial Biotechnology as evidenced by publications in refereed indexed journals. Those who have submitted their PhD theses are also eligible to apply.
Salary: As per DBT norms.
2. Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Three (03) posts
Essential Qualification: M.Sc in the relevant areas of Biological Sciences/Biotechnology. Preference will be given to candidates who have qualified CSIR/UGC- NET, GATE or other National Level Eligibility Tests.
Salary: As per DBT norms.
3. Technical Assistant (TA): One (01) post
Essential Qualification: M.Sc in relevant areas of Biological/Chemical/Physical Sciences/Biotechnology. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in handling computers, lab and instrumentation techniques.
Salary: As per DBT norms.
General terms and conditions
1. Only those candidates with strong commitment towards realising the objectives of the State Biotech Hub i.e. research, training and outreach in Biotechnology in Manipur should apply.
2. The positions are purely temporary for one year which is extendable on yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum period of three years or the tenure of the project, whichever is earlier. The appointment does not confer any entitlement or right over the job and will not be considered as formal service.
