MNS: There has been no delay in disposing off the alleged human rights violation cases. Further, all the cases where investigations have been completed, were found to be false . This information was given by Minister of Defence AK Antony in a written reply to Botcha Jhanshi Lakshmi and Kaushalendra Kumar in Lok Sabha today. He gave details of cases filed during the last three years. In 2009 out of 79 cases 33 were from NE and all cases were found to be false. In 2010 out of 52, 29 were from NE and five cases are in the purview of the court and in 2011 out of 33 cases 25 were from NE and three cases are in the purview of the court.

Discovering the movement of UG cadres in Salungpham, troops of 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in the area and apprehended two PLA cadres on 08 Aug 2012. The apprehendees were identified as No 3011 SS Pvt Elambam Bungo alias Nongsaba, 22 yrs, s/o Elambam Tamma Meitei, r/o Uyumpok Mamang Leikai and No 3185 SS Pvt Peba alias Sanatomba Meitiei, 20 yrs, s/o Ibocha Meitei, r/o Keibi Heikak Mapal . Two 9 mm Pistols with magazine and 6 live rounds and one .32mm Pistol with two live rounds were recovered from the apprehendees who alongwith recoveries were handed over to Thoubal police station.
